FAQ's
Q.  Can I trust a handy man to do some of my
electrical work?
A.  No.  No one is an expert in all trades.  Don't trust
a novice repair man to work on your homes most
dangerous system.

Q.  Why does my circuit breaker keep tripping?
A.  Either the breaker is bad, the circuit is
overloaded or there is a ground fault.

Q.  Can I change a 15 amp breaker to a 30 amp
beaker so it wont trip?
A.  No, the wiring devices will not be rated for 30
amps and it is a fire hazard.

Q.  Why do I need GFCI (ground fault circuit
interrupter)  protection in my bathrooms, kitchen,
and outdoor outlets?
A.  A GFCI will shut off the power to the device to
prevent electrocution.  Bathrooms, kitchens, and
outdoor outlets run a higher risk of coming in
contact with water or water piping systems.

Q.  If I have my computer plugged into a surge
protector,  then why do I need whole house surge
protection?
A.  You need both.  The whole house surge
protector will work at a higher clamping voltage.
Your plug strip is not rated for a very high surge.  In
the event of a strong surge, your plug strip will not
be protective.  Most plug strip surge protectors will
continue to supply power although the surge
protection is diminished.   We recommend that you
install whole house surge protectors for your power,
telephone, cable or satellite, and surge protection
plug strips.
